I think I gained 10 lbs during my week in Paramus all thanks to Kook Hwa! And every pound was worth it! This place is heaven.

It's not the worst bubble tea I've ever had, but its definitely no where near the best. I don't know why I wanted to try Kook Hwa so badly, but I did, and needless to say I kinda regret trying it. The inside of the cafe is really really quiet. During my visit there were only three other customers and the place is huge! Other Yelpers had mentioned that they found this strange, a place so big on busy route 17, should be packed. I had a Thai tea blended bubble tea and it had a very fake and cheap taste. The girl who took my order was very nice and I have nothing negative to say about her. I really wouldn't suggest coming here, there's a lot of bubble tea places and bakeries in Bergen County, you can find something better.

What's not to love about this small and fabulous bakery? Fresh fresh goodies and always a friendly staff!
This bakery is out of the way for me but whenever I'm up rt 17 I try to come here for a snack. These really are some of the best croissants I've ever had. So fresh, I've never gotten something here that was a day old. I loooove the chocolate croissant, so flaky and delicious plus just the right amount of chocolate.
The red bean breads steal the show here. Literally the fluffiest bread you'll ever have and perfectly sweetened with the red bean paste. Delicious!!
They have some awesome selections too, lots of fun breads. At the counter you'll find all the beautiful cakes and mochi. The mochi is huge and satisfying. They also serve bubble tea. Tons of parking to the left of the bakery. -

The coffee is a no go here. My sister and I were very shocked considering it's a bakery. I think the young girl was short staffed. All the lights in the back were closed and it took her a while for our drinks to be served. Also, they use a K-Cup Machine for their Americanos. I thought I got crucified.

To be honest after my visit I'm baffled that this has the rating it has and any good reviews. I really wanted to like this place, but the food and bubble tea was just not good. This place was completely empty on a Saturday afternoon, already not a good sign. We ordered a mocha cake slice and a taro and mango bubble tea. The cake tasted like it might have been more than a week old, it was very stale. The boba in our tea was hard and uncooked on the inside. The flavor of the bubble tea was watered down and just not impressive.
